BRIEF WORLD INFO: Imagine the modern era of Japan in Kyoto, as you typically see it on your usual j-drama shows. You know, the school-based, slice-of-life ones? Yes, those. This is the kind of world the Colors universe was based off of. Think of it as an age old neighborhood in a suburban area in Japan, just between what would be a town but also having a city-like environment. You can still see the old 80 Japan style residential houses and and small parks around, but there are also notable buildings standing not too far away from there.
What is unique about Kyoto though is the card game that originated from there. This certain multifandom-based game has an objective where you collect 20 cards of a character and be able to "master" the character of that deck. In order to do that though, you would have to trade other character cards with other players in order to master the one you want. This style of collecting and mastering these cards was what came to be essentially known as "Colors TCG". Founded by Lucathia Industries, Colors TCG is the TCG to play amongst people of all ages. The game went viral from Kyoto, to every part of Japan, and eventually around the world. This TCG consists of a mass variety of decks. Every deck is categorized into one of 8 designated colors, in which each color was represented by a mascot. Having competed in a number of contests hosted by the company, Akai-san, Mikan-tan, Kou-kun, Midori~n, Aoi-sama, Murasaki-dono, Tobi-han, and Gin-sensei came to be known as the mascots of this popular TCG.
These mascots all reside in one residential building, known as the "Colors Household". It is a huge home, consisting of many colors from the inside out. It is divided into multiple floors, which included a pool, a library, and an art gallery. Each of the Colors household members had their own room. The girls, Mikan-tan, Midori~n, and Murasaki-dono were assigned to one floor while Akai-san, Kou-kun, Aoi-sama, Tobi-han, and Gin-sensei had to be split up into 2 floors due to the maximum capacity of each floor. Each room is catered to their likes and interests; from their favorite color, fashion wear, and to their hobbies. There weren't any strange or dangerous creatures that lurk about in or out of the household, so it wasn't anything like you would see in a fantasy game. However, the house members themselves do get a bit of their "adventure" time by going around Kyoto and the surrounding areas of where they live.
This world is not any different from our own world, but it is concentrated on this trend of a card game known as Colors and the mascots that are associated with it.
BRIEF CHARACTER HISTORY:
- Aoi-sama was an orphan, losing his parents when Aoi was only 2. The boy, devastated at the loss of his parents, ended up walking around the streets, lost and hopeless. A lady, who had been just passing by, found the child and took him in to a nearby orphanage and cared for the boy in the early years of his life.
- At age 5, he attended a public grade school near the orphanage. Being the diligent boy that he was, he excelled in most of his subjects from elementary school. He was grateful for his caretaker, so the least he wanted to do was to show her that her generousity and kindness had not been wasted.
- When he was in middle school, he was retrieved by an agency and put into a foster home because his deceased parents were wealthy and had left a huge inheritance in his name. However, he wasn't able to inherit it at the time because his parent's will stated that he must be able to prove that he could handle the responsibility of the finances. He decided to come up to the challenge.
- When Aoi started high school, he was already filling in for a part time job at the school's library, while maintaining his education. From his job, he developed a deep interest in the literary arts.
- By the end of high school, his grades suffered slightly from having to juggle work and studies, but he was able to attend a university of his choice and be able to dorm on the campus.
- Due to limited finances after his 2nd year of college, Aoi decided to take on a 2nd part time job to cover the expenses which had grown to include supporting the orphanage he had spent his earlier years in. Unfortunately, the job market at the time was bad, so he had ended up working in a local fast food restaurant near the university. He figured that working in a fast-paced environment could further prove his readiness to stake his claim on his inheritance.
- On the 1st week of the job, he encountered Akai-san while serving the counter. He wasn't exactly the brightest person to Aoi, as he was turned off by the the latter's overly friendly/chummy behavior. It was then Akai-san invited Aoi to participate in a mascot contest, for which the winner would get their own room to reside in if they won. Aoi naturally refused at first, seeing as moving out would mean having to pay rent and he was short on cash. Akai-san told him that he would not need to pay for the house because the winner of said contest is designated their own room for free, with no fees attached. Aoi reluctantly agreed, saying that he would be able to if he could prove to the agency he was monitored under that he was a competent heir.
- At the age of 24, Aoi had graduated and moved on from living in the college dorms to moving into a residential room from winning the contest Akai-san had mentioned. Aoi was well adjusted and was able to pull through the money management issues. The fast food restaurant that he had been working? He quit his job at the fast food restuarant after graduation, because he didn't need the extra funds anymore. The agency that had monitored Aoi through his years of schooling? They have finally were able to give a will signing a document declaring that he be able to inherit the fortunes his parents have left behind.
- One year later, an unexpected thing happened when he had stepped into Gin's laboratory; he had entered Exit Void.
PERSONALITY:
Aoi-sama's personality could be summed up in as little as one sentence. He has the behavior of a conservative old man who considers himself pretty high up in the social hierarchy. His mindset is that of being superior to you, especially if you are of the same biological gender. His choice of wardrobe, visual appearance, and how he behaves shows how much of a prideful man he is. If he is knowledgeable on a certain thing, he has no qualms about showing off and informing you about it. However, he knows his limitations clearly and understands that attempting to show off over something he has no knowledge of will only end poorly.
When introducing himself, he would politely ask that you call him "Aoi-sama". Should you refuse, he will most likely to ask you to do so a second, or a third time. If you continue to do so, He will start demanding that you call him by that name properly. He's quite quick to temper, as he's been shown to react to even the tiniest situation if something did not go his way. He'll be the man to whine and complain about it before it gets fixed. It makes him stubborn in that sense, but not to the very extreme of things. Easily irritated? He would be, if you express your cocky obnoxious attitude toward him. Does he place himself more highly than others? Sometimes. He'll be polite if you are polite first. As one would put it, he is the guy who does "take an eye for an eye", mind him wearing an eyepatch for personal reasons.
On first impression, he normally presents himself that of a gentleman, tending to most ladies properly as if he was their loyal liege and they were his queen. He prefers not to flirt with women, but does try to be polite with most of those of whom he meets. If you have not met the man before, he'll most likely treat you with some respect or manner. Because even when meeting most people for the first time, he would make sure he gives off a good first standing. He believes it is wise to carry oneself with dignity in public after all.
But there are cases in which he is very prejudiced against people who do not appear properly clean, or mentally stable. For example, he would not want to associate himself with homeless bums who beg for money on the streets, or a hippie who cares far more about the environment than their own outer appearance. Unless the situation calls for being in front of a public audience or in front of those whom he'd admire or respect, he will mostly likely ignore the person if they appear to be very poor or unstable. Interacting with those kind of people would not be on his agenda as he has nothing to earn or gain from those whom he'd considered as "obnoxious" or "intolerant".
This is also followed by his normal behavior, when he is around those whom he is more familar with. It's actually not that different than when he interacts with an obnoxious stranger, because his expectations of how everyone should behave are off the charts. With only a few exceptions, Aoi's attitude toward most others of his own universe implies that he gets easily annoyed by them because their tendency to be overly friendly with him. He also would even question why he's even associated with them to begin with. While he appears to not be on good terms with those he is close with, there is a part of him in which he does care for them and will do things for them even though he'd still be in denial. In this manner, you could say he has a somewhat of a "hot and cold" personality towards his peers.
ABILITIES:
- Aoi-sama has the ability to speak in at least multiple languages. His native language is standard Japanese, but he sometimes has a habit of speaking an olden dialect of it when he gets into a temper. His secondary language is British English. His English is good enough to be considered fluent. He also is able to converse in Polish as well as Mandarin Chinese if he is prompted to.
- He also has the ability to wield a sword with ease. While not a double-wielder, he has good control and skill with a sword.
POSSESSIONS:
His possessions consist of his eyepatch, his steel hairband, a long sleeved white-collared shirt, black pants, his blue boots, and a Japanese katana with sheath to protect himself as well as others.
He will also have a furry companion with him! His name is Shirocchi and he's pictured here. He is the white creature on the right, having cool colored markings all over him. He's kind of a rambunctious but friendly fellow, being quite attached to the owner as he has a natural liking to those of the cool toned colors. When paired with Kurocchi(The black creature on the left, with warm colors), they make a devious duo, causing trouble and mayhem to others!

THIRD-PERSON SAMPLE:
For Aoi, it was one of those days where he was mostly in his room. He was staring at his weekly schedule in the bedroom area, checking off any task he had done prior to what he had checked before. His daily routine mostly consisted of work during his weekdays, doing house chores if he had been scheduled to do any, and a little downtime to just sit, relax with a good book once he's done with everything. However today, he was just staring and starting to raise an eyebrow at one of the things he had wrote down today.
"Check...up on Gin-sensei's lab experiment labelled 'Spectrum-000AX08'. What kind of experiment? I don't remember agreeing to this. Are you serious?" He said to himself. Out of all the things he had remembered writing down, this was one of the things that he had either somehow forgotten why he had written it down, or someone else had managed to forge his writing onto the list. Though it was a possibility, he highly doubted anyone would be able to copy his unique handwriting.
This had better not be a trick. Aoi was beginning to harbour suspicion about the piece of paper he was holding. With most of the Colors household members out on a trip, he as going to be alone in the house for at least two weeks. If that was the case, it couldn't have been anyone that resides in the household unless they were lurking about and being eerily quiet about it. There was just no way.
"If it's on the list and no one else is here, I'll just.. do it. No one's going to be watching." Because really, it's not seriously that big of a harm was it? It's only a mere simple task. He's already been granted access to Gin-sensei's laboratory, even though he had not had a thought of experimenting with things like the silver-haired man would. Hopefully it would go smoothly with no problems. What could go wrong?
Leaving his bedroom with the paper on hand, he swiftly walked down the stairs to Gin's Laboratory. It was rather convenient for the lab to be right above his own bedroom, despite how much trouble Gin had caused with his experiments in the past. Standing in front of the entrance way, Aoi stopped and examined the area.
A steel door... and a wooden door. Aoi had never stepped into Gin's laboratory, although there were many instances of him pounding on these doors whenever an explosion happened from below. He wasn't the type to be curious about what the crazy scientist had in store for the rest of household, nor would he want to meddle with that kind of business to begin with.
After examining the doors, he made an attempt to open one of them. He started to make a little nudge at the wooden doorknob, but it wouldn't budge and the handle refused to turn. He tried again by slamming open the panel of the door. There was still no luck. He then searched any switches and devices nearby, hoping one of those could trigger it open.
Right then and there, Aoi noticed a key that was hidden under a mat, right in front of his two feet.
How could I have not noticed this sooner? He questioned himself. It was obvious that a key would've been under his nose, but he never really looked down. Then again, he's usually the type to think highly of himself and never turn his head down to those whom he would consider "inferior". For whatever reason he had in mind to test out the experiment, this would be considered one of those "exceptions". As soon as he saw the key, he quickly picked it up from under that mat and inserted it into the door.
The door had finally opened.
"Now, then. Where is that one experiment that Gin has men- whoa, what in bloody hell?" Aoi said as he stood right inside the lab. Tubes and small glass cups lay shattered on the ground. Various chemicals were spilled everywhere.
"I'm... not going to be responsible for this, once I find this spectrum of an experiment." Because for Aoi, he's not going to take any responsibility for something he didn't do.
